East beauty

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

I bet u were thinking about beuatiful eastern women…

I didnt realise how pristine the scenery can be at Kelantan…until a few days ago i had to rent a car to travel up-down-left-right of the Kelantan state. I cannot say that the whole state is "backwards"… (I hope i dont offend anybody or any particular groups), it still has the tradition -such as padi fields, ‘industri penternakan’, village-styled towns and it was quite fun to drive down the trunk roads instead of jammed roads in KL!

Fortunately it didnt rain too hard otherwise i’ll be swimming around in my KANCIL… the weather was just cooling & i could actually drive about from morning till evening with the windows down & the air was so fresh!

Then today i had to be in KB & it didnt rain at all! ~temp: 35 degrees or more i suppose but i felt like a travelling oven! Once i got back at the hotel, it was shower, shower, shower!

Well, one more night & tomorrow i’ll be back at KL…dunno whether to rejoice (bcos seeing my hubby! Hip Hip Hurray!) or to frown(jam to work, have towake up especially early *SIGH*) …wish me luck!

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day just went by 24 hrs ago… where were u for V Day?

I was in Kelantan & hubby in KL- miss him but not bcos it was Valentine’s. Don’t u just think the celebration is over-rated? Do you belong to the group that says 1) The other half must always remember V-Day & do something romantic, and all that mushy mushy stuffs, or 2) If u love a person enough, everyday & anyday can be V-Day!

I suppose i’m in Group 2(or maybe it’s just an excuse to my hubby that i’m working on V-day & wont be spending V-day dinner with him ;p)  I always felt that spending excessive amounts of $$$ on things like flowers/roses or chocolates for the celebration is not JUST and simple a way for other people to make money out of ‘crazy’ people in love… or even paying double and triple the price of a meal just bcos it’s Valentine’s Day!!!

But then again, i make it a point to do something special - be it cooking for him, getting him perfumes, making cute little coupons which says "1 free massage", "1 free laundry service", etc for this year’s celebration. And then it’s also an excuse for him to buy me stuffs -like my new bluetooth handsfree! YIPPEE! He calls it my new toy!

Whatever group u belong to (or maybe group 3 like some of my frens-who cares about V Day, i prefer salary day : mainly bcos they HAVE NOT found the partner to their lifes) I wish u HAPPY VALENTINE’s DAY & may everyday be a V… i mean a great day!

2006 - Year of the DOG

This new year brings about new things - a new chapter of life with my other half (Legally but not thru traditional rituals, so frens pls wait for 2007 for the red packets!), new family to look after (my own parents, bros, my in-laws & 2 new sisters) new work challenges, RENEWED ties with old friends during the current holidays, etc.

HOW HAS IT BEEN FOR YOU?

Well, the hubby & I have been busy with deciding on dates & venues to hold our wedding dinner/banquet - thankfully that’s settled, and managed to get our furniture shopping done before year of the dog (as they say in feng shui books for horses this year, not to simply spend the $$$), bought all the booze/wines required for the banquet as well as recommending the great bargain wines we bought to friend wo needed them fr their own wedding & misc functions like open house, CNY celebration, etc; waiting for the new place’s reno to finish, hubby been training hard at golf to earn his handicap, finished my sales & marketing plan for 2006 at my work place & all geared up to work hard once MONDAY appears so that the ‘ka-ching, ka-ching’ will come rolling in before our weeding banquet. PHEW!

This one week holiday was a great break to catch up on things we haven’t had time for the past few weeks - visiting & gossiping with old frens from school & temple, pigging out at relatives’ & frens’ open house for the CNY, ‘chor tai dee’ & enjoying Chardonnay/Riesling, karaoke at wee hrs of the morning, clearing up all my credit card slips & expenditure sheets, printing out the digital photos of the registration ceremony last Novemebr to pass out to mom, sister-in-law & frens who managed to make it on that day, and of course packing up parts & pieces of my room so that we can shift it over to the new house… SOON!

It feels great to have accomplished so much in those few days & the clock is ticking ticking -indicating its time to go back to work for the normal routine,(no more play or partying to wee hrs of morning) ; but am glad things are normalizing!  Can’t wait for the next public holiday & the next weekend…

OR to find time to write my next BLOG! Nightie night!
