BRIDAL PHOTOGRAPHY…
Compulsory!
Once a life-time (unless u marry more than once or suddenly have lotsa dough to spend at bridal studios just to take nice ‘professional’ photographs that will probably cost more than your monthly income!)
Clyde & I went to get the photos taken on 2nd day of Raya-after postponing the date more than twice (what-to-do, both of us, or I shall say rather – me – was busy going outstation or having some cult meeting…) Went over to the bridal gallery in the morning about 10 am, n almost reached there late bcos of the late night before…couldn’t sleep mah!
Started off with make-up & hair-styling for both of us (YES, clyde too!) & finally slipped into the dress by 12 noon. We were scared stiff to try & take photos on our own on the hand-set – we’re honest ppl what! Then the photographer (D) guided us how to pose. Stick the head down, chin out, stomach in, shoulders relax, SMILE…just reminds me of my ballet classes when I was really really young. After changing a total of 6 attires (2 wedding gown, 2 evening gowns – one maroon & the other green, 1 kimono, 1 chinese royal or ‘ka-ka’ costume) we wore the white gown for outdoor shots at 4.30pm. It was raining & drizzling while we were at the studio…but fortunately the sun came back out so we could take the outdoor pics. There was a lily pond, a small lake, a little hill-like area, under some trees (& yours truly being attacked by a swarm of Anopheles a.k.a mosquitoes). PHEW – done by 5.30pm
Then comes the headache & anxiety. What if the photos turn out bad? (we were thinking that bcos te photographer we selected couldn’t make it –injured her ankle or something & another photographer sat-in for her) What if I look fat, ugly, funny with make-up on, Clyde’s funny hairdo, etc…
=D
We went back last Saturday to see the sample pics.
=D
Happy…
Confused….
Had to top-up more $$$
Too many pics to choose & I want, I want, I want all if possible! The photos turn-out all right…we didn’t have very high expectations (same goes to watching any movies, never go to the cinema expecting a certain style, or quality, or story-line, or action-packed, etc…TRUST ME…from experience, you’ll end up heart-broken or disappointed if u harbor any expectations!) but we spent more than 3 hrs trying to pick out the best pics. Ended up with 60 poses… and a hole in our pockets – but I know it will be worth it. (Actually, now when I think of it…I feel like adding another 10 more pics that I like =D)
Now more waiting…for the design layout of the album…hopefully can see it before the end of the month. Or better still, in-time to show to our family & friends either during the 2 lunches set-up this month. (FYI, besides the wedding banquet, my parents are inviting extended family members for LUNCH in Johor/Tangkak on 18th Nov & another one in Klang on 26th) And most importantly to upload those pics onto my online albums so u can see them too! (OFOTO @ KodakGallery).
Can’t wait lar!
OH! We’ve got a website too (since it’s the trend to have things online…I decided to ‘advertise’ & shout to the world about our wedding) –those who attended ROM will remember the officer saying that I should make a formal announcement to colleagues, friends, associates, customers, or better still a PAPER ANNOUNCEMENT…that Clyde & Shel r officially married & I have to change my name to Mrs T…no more Shel…just MRs T.
